For the Lisbon-based Brazilian artist, connecting with spiritual realms has facilitated a deep period of transformation. Across her personal and professional life, she has instigated a complete overhaul, leading to a seismic shift and a whole new outlook. Driven by a desire to live a life in service, and utilise her talents and experience for the benefit of others, ANNA is fostering a more conscious musical path. While maintaining her DJ and producer life, she is cultivating a beautifully intentional journey into the world of sound healing and communal transformation. These two worlds complement each other, tapping into similar foundational pillars: the power of frequency to elicit positive experiences, music bringing people together and how collective energy can be harnessed for the greater good. ANNA’s outlook is focused, determined and driven by a higher purpose. Guided by the inner spirit, she’s stepping into a new way of being, where music becomes a tool for healing and intention becomes action. From her beginnings, learning to DJ at her father’s club, Six, on the outskirts of São Paulo, to the dizzying heights of global tours and life as a successful artist, ANNA has learned first-hand about the intensity of a career in music. Driven by a longing to explore consciousness, she found her way to meditation. Through this she began to expand her mind, and conscious field. Exploring and experimenting with spiritual practices set ANNA on her current path; accepting and embracing the opposite ends of life’s spectrum - from peace and stillness to chaos and unbridled energy. ANNA’s output embodies all of this duality. Through channeling energy, experiencing higher states of consciousness and integrating what she’s learned into her creative practice, she has awakened something deep within. Behind-the-scenes, ANNA has gone through profound realisations and experiences. Essentially shedding her old life, and identity, for an entirely new one built around the impact of her spiritual awakening. The essence of ANNA is still there; with music and frequency at the core of her expression. But now everything is in alignment with her true purpose - to serve. Every action is intentional and resonant with a higher plane. The future vision is more intuitive than defined right now, but the intention is clear and provides fuel for ANNA’s forward motion. It’s the compass directing her energy in the right direction, while allowing life to unfold and guide her, naturally. In the electronic music domain ANNA is a renowned artist, demonstrating her prowess as a DJ and a musician around the globe for many years. She has spent over a decade on the road, evoking high energy through sets at high-profile clubs and festivals including Coachella, Time Warp and Sónar Festival. On the production side, she has collaborated with and remixed artists such as Jon Hopkins, Kiasmos, Depeche Mode, Martin Gore, Agoria, Grimes, Alex Serra, Richie Hawtin and Stephan Bodzin. Not to mention her own solo productions, which have placed her in the top tier of dance music artists. This harder edged side of ANNA is complemented by her exploration of ambient and experimental electronica. Inspired by her awakening, she has immersed herself in the production of beautifully composed soundscapes. Remixes for Lana Del Rey and Ólafur Arnalds represent this expansive sound. She also created an ambient LP in 2023, with Jon Hopkins, East Forest and Laraaji among the collaborators on the project - aptly titled Intentions. The album established ANNA’s ability to create musical soundscapes that embodied her development of inner stillness. It’s a body of work that has been fundamental to her growth as an artist, and a key factor in her move towards sound healing. Today, she continues to produce music in line with her inner and outer transformation. Music designed to move the dance floor full of emotive, transcendent feeling. Live instruments have become part of ANNA’s creative process. Taking steps towards learning how to play, using her voice, and even whistling, in the sacred spaces where she facilitates love and healing. New territory, but all part of the path that is unfolding. By honouring the guidance she is receiving, ANNA is finding inner peace and happiness. Of course, there have been challenges along the way, but the overriding feeling is one of trust - trust in the process and trust that the future will unfold as it’s supposed to.
